Seizing the Treasure Ship

Halfnir tried in vain to persuade that Osha's death was the work of a madman, but the crew were not impressed and he was consigned to the brig. Repairs continued on the Martin II with Reese triggering a booby trap and maiming one of the marines. Doktor Bogburp applied for the position of astrogator and was soon given it, and Tex and Reese arranged for some spares to be brought on board, with their weapons and gear in a smuggling compartment. Soon the ship was ready for takeoff on its revised course, with Kaelan taking the Black Swan ahead to Acrid.

It didn't take much for Bogburp to hack into the ship's computer and eventually he found the door to release Halfnir from the brig and left a false trail to the assistant astrogator Laffit, who was consigned to quarters. Reese and Bogburp then started cooking up biological infections to try to disable the crew, which left many of them ill in their quarters. The jump to Acrid went as planned, then the jump to Exe was successfully kinked by Bogburp and Henshaw to ensure that it would arrive in the clutches of Hroal's fleet.

On day 6 of the jump, the pirates decided to try to take the ship. Halfnir emerged from the cargo hold with a grenade launcher and painted the galley with the innards of the unlucky crew who had been there moments before. Jack persuaded several of the crew to stand down when faced with the heist and Tex managed to open a marine barracks and lob in a plasma grenade. But are the pirates ready to go toe to toe with the full crew of the vessel?
