The Long Shadow

After gathering the crew, they smuggled in some weapons and headed back to the vault and after some negotiations the vault was opened, but contained mainly survival equipment. Some precious metals and machine parts provided a modest haul which was smuggled out with a truck back to the ship. Investigations into the fate of the feral aslani uncovered some empty cannisters near their previous fort, and it transpired that raiders in a ship bearing the symbol of a rising dawn had attacked the alsani settlement and pillaged it before leaving.

Heading back to Drinax they discovered that the fleet of Prince Richter Grehai was in port visiting King Oleb. After explaining the situation they had discovered on Paal, the King explained his distrust of Prince Richter and that his arrival following their visit to Paal was likely no coincidence, especially considering his dislike for the aslani. He asked them to get close to the Prince and investigate the ship which attacked the aslani on Paal.

After seeing the king, the crew were invited to attend on the Prince and he explained his position with regards to the aslani, and asked the crew to raid a ship supplying ihatei on Thebus, the Principled Profiteer. After agreeing a sum for the task, the crew returned to their ship to muse upon their encounters.
