Death of the Ghoul

Realising that they were outgunned the travellers negotiated a withdrawal and returned to the downport to plot. Briefly meeting with Lord Girkle of the Heavenly Father, they sent the Lord and their tame journalist Truth-Hunter on their way. It also transpired that an old friend of Varl and Zhil's, Jack Reece was on one of their ships. Intimidating the crew of the Sweet Ferret they managed to get them to give up the SDB and accept the Ghoul Far Trader as a substitute then betrayed them by blowing out the sky.

Their next plot was to ask Gera Hollis for a small army of miners to attack the highport and after some hard negotiations, she was convinced and cunningly they let Director Tli of the highport that they were releasing the Sweet Ferret and crew as a gesture of goodwill when secretly it had 100 miners secreted about it. Trying to discretely follow it up, the Black Swan was spotted by Venture City's sensors and warned off and the Sweet Ferret managed to dock.

In the hangar they discovered a squad of heavily armed security guards waiting for them with fingers on triggers...
