The crew took time to plan their approach to Kteiroa to sell the shipment of arms they had come across to Khaefryo Hrel. While planning and communicating, Halfnir got a signal from an old friend, Tex Macguffin, a professional and capable agent from Halfnir's black ops days and after catching up, Tex was soon welcomed aboard as one of the crew of the Jackdaw. But the crew then also received a call from another aslani, Yaoiyui Yhahr, who Tex had discovered was a clan agent. Yaoiyui was also interested in buying the arms, whereas Khaefryo claimed they were already paid for. Ernie's fluency with Trokh, the aslan language, came in most useful.

The crew went to meet Yaoiyui and sat to eat with him until money was discussed and tempers became frayed with Zhil throwing Yaoiyui's food on the floor! At that point, Khaefryo stormed in fully armed, enraged that the crew were planning on selling to a rival. After some intense negotiations, the travellers decided to go with Khaefryo and followed him to his tent in the frozen waste. Negotiations became much smoother as Zhil and Halfnir viewed his trophies and the arms were successfully delivered, with a future friend and enemy.

It was then decided to travel to Drinax so that Tex could be paid by Alice, a noble and his current employer before heading to Pandora. While on Drinax, Ernie spotted an opportunity to sell the stolen genetic terraforming data from Lysani and Alice showed interest. It also seemed that Alice had a job which she needed completing, with the travellers being good candidates. Apparently, Doret Jallaint, an engineer at the starport lost his daughter Galapigny to an overdose. Doret remains convinced that his daughter's boyfriend, Chadaleau Wrax remains responsible and that Lord Wrax, his father and head of the Star Guard has covered up the incident. Doret demands proof! Alice has an interest in Lord Wrax it seems and is willing to pay Cr100,000 if the travellers can bring her this proof. Tex began investigating and uncovered that Alice had high connections indeed, possibly up to Drinax's royal family. The game is afoot.
