The smuggled cargo safely secured aboard their ship, the travellers decided some shore leave was in order and they each went about enjoying their various vices with Ernie working on his robotics obsessions, Tex enjoyed the good life, Halfnir sought and found some fight rings by the docks and Zhil engaged in some fine detail bone scrimshaw with rat bones. Kaelan instead went looking for various grey market equipment.

Zhil found a local dockside fixer, Magic, who was able to connect the Zhodani with all manner of services and was soon able to track down the missing PRQ logistics director, Kerkess Maraign. She was staying aboard a corporate far trader, the Everest, in berth. When Ms Maraign broke cover and was spotted in the starport, Zhil summoned the travellers who could be found and they staged a fast and brutal ambush and although discovery was close, they managed to secrete the PRQ group onto the Black Swan and took off, leaving Tex and Ernie to search for Halfnir who was by now long due back from his entertainment at the fight rings.

But the crew were unaware that a group of bounty hunters had taken an interest in the prices on some of their heads and were even now tracking them as they wandered through Cordan highport. Halfnir had been snatched up and had spirited away aboard a subsidised liner, the All Fathers, which had already left! Upon discovering this, Tex and Ernie hastily contacted the Black Swan which was on the way to the system's gas giant, but the All Fathers soon jumped for Wildeman.

Picking up the remaining crew, the Swan jumped for Wildeman in pursuit and discovered that insystem was an Imperial Corvette, lurking somewhat offworld. Landing at the large asteroid of a world, some investigation uncovered that Halfnir was likely still aboard the All Fathers and would be jumping to Fist in the Imperium in another 2 days...
